OmniDev is a local-first Chrome extension for frontend inspection, capture, utility, and QA workflows operated by Jambo.team. OmniDev does not require user registration and does not operate a Jambo user-account backend for extension inspection data. All DOM inspection, CSS/Tailwind scanning, technology stack detection, screenshot captures, storage viewing, and bug report bundling execute locally inside your browser unless you explicitly trigger an external export or optional integration described below.
Table of Contents
OmniDev is architected so that page inspection and debugging data stays in your browser by default. The categories below distinguish information processed strictly on your device from optional network requests.
A. Information processed and stored locally in your browser
1. Active tab inspection & QA data (local only) - DOM nodes, computed CSS styles, Tailwind classes, fonts, color palettes, SVGs/images, Core Web Vitals, SEO/accessibility metrics, and technology stack signatures are analyzed locally in memory. - Captured screenshots, Screenshot Library notes/OCR text, saved HTML snapshots, and Bug Report bundles are stored locally in Chrome extension storage (chrome.storage.local / chrome.storage.session) or downloaded directly to your computer when you export them. - Network Logger events, console logs, cookies, localStorage, and sessionStorage values are inspected locally inside the tab. Every HAR download and network snippet clipboard export passes through an in-app Redaction Review Panel to mask tokens, cookies, and secrets before export. 2. Extension preferences (local only) - Language selection, favorite tools, hidden tools, keyboard shortcuts, privacy toggles, and Twitter/X local CRM notes are stored in chrome.storage.local on your device.
B. Optional external network requests
- Optional Popup Weather Widget: When enabled, OmniDev requests coarse IP geolocation and local weather data from ipwho.is,ipapi.co, bigdatacloud.net, open-meteo.com, and openstreetmap.org to display local weather in the popup badge. - Optional User-Configured AI Triage: If you manually configure an AI API key and endpoint in Bug Report Generator and click Triage, the redacted bug summary you approve is sent to your chosen provider. - Optional CodePen Sandbox Opening: Clicking "Open in CodePen" in Code Extractor submits the selected HTML/CSS snippet to codepen.io in a new tab at your request.
OmniDev requests only the Chrome Manifest V3 permissions required to run its 54 developer and QA tools:
- activeTab & scripting: Inject the Shadow-DOM isolated inspection overlay and execute page-world helpers when you launch a tool.
- storage: Persist your tool preferences, favorites, privacy gates, and local Screenshot Library on your device.
- contextMenus & alarms: Provide right-click quick actions and periodic popup weather badge refreshes.
- webRequest & webNavigation: Read response headers locally for the Technology Stack Analyzer and reset tab-scoped caches on navigation.
- debugger: Used only when you explicitly launch full-page screenshot or high-resolution capture workflows that require Chrome DevTools Protocol (CDP) viewport emulation and stitching, and detaches immediately after capture.
- Host permissions (<all_urls>): Allow you to inspect, debug, and audit any localhost, staging, or production website you visit.
OmniDev does not sell, rent, or monetize user data, browsing history, DOM content, or network logs, and never transfers data for personalized advertising or creditworthiness lending.
- Locally inspected webpage content, cookies, storage records, and network payloads are never transmitted to Jambo.team servers.
- Third-party services receive data only when you use an optional feature that requires an external request (such as the weather widget, opening a snippet in CodePen, or sending a redacted report to your own configured AI endpoint).
Because OmniDev stores preferences and captured artifacts locally in your browser, you have full control over retention and deletion at any time:
- Clear individual screenshots, notes, cookies, or storage items directly inside the respective OmniDev tool panels.
- Disable sensitive tool categories at any time in the OmniDev Privacy Center inside the extension.
- Uninstalling the OmniDev Chrome extension immediately removes all extension-scoped chrome.storage.local and chrome.storage.session data from your browser.
